For our first trip we went to the Vista, CA Native Indian Rock for the San Luis Rey band of Luiseno Indians. At this site we got the chance to learn about the remaining native Indians and the work they have done to establish such a great native land. The acre (approx.) is now flourishing with native plants that have been planted for their return. Until this time I had no idea there were Luiseno Indians native to Vista, CA. This trip was not only fun but it was educational towards our native lands.
While I was walking around the grounds I felt like I was in church, I didn’t want to touch anything. Soon after I wandered for 30 minutes, an elder gentleman gave the group a tour and explained some of the native plants that are now spreading throughout the native lands. This encouraged me to get up close and personal with the wild life.
I took some shots of the native rock, scenery and plants that are now more green than ever, here are some photos , hope you enjoy...
